Unexpectedly Quit

You can’t spell crash without CS.

Force Quit Applications

July 22, 2008 AT 02:11AM

I tried to open a Photoshop file.

Could not complete your request because of a program error.

July 20, 2008 AT 12:40PM

Submitted by Eddie Hillenbrand who says, “Photoshop was in the background doing nothing when I noticed the Dock icon bouncing. AFAIK I didn’t request anything.”

Cannot handle the request because a modal dialog or alert is active.

Submitted by Tal Leming who says, “Occasionally, I’ll try to open an InDesign file and I’m presented with this dialog. It tells me that an alert is preventing me from opening a file, but it is the only alert in the application. So, I’m guessing that the alert announcing that an alert is preventing me from opening a file is actually the alert that is preventing me from opening a file. I think this is how black holes are formed.”

Wait For App Shutdown Title

July 17, 2008 AT 11:35AM

Submitted by Rob Alan who says, “Adobe Updater wants other unnamed apps to stop doing unspecified things. Don’t worry though—an ‘App Shutdown Title’ is apparently supposed to appear (never did for me).”

27 Spot Colors

July 14, 2008 AT 02:55PM

Submitted by Jon Deal who says, “Sure, no one in their right mind would want to output 27 individual spot color plates, especially in a document with transparency, but I do have a printer that prints in CMYK and does that conversion automatically.”

System Check

July 11, 2008 AT 12:19PM

Submitted by Scott Olson who says “I thought inserting the install disc would prompt an uninstall option for CS3 Web Premium. It did not, but the resulting error message is amusing.”

Capabilities that are no longer enabled in this Reader version.

July 10, 2008 AT 04:05PM

Submitted by Nathaniel Irons, who thinks this error is related to digital signatures, which worked in Reader 8 but are grayed out, with no elaboration, in Reader 9.

Photoshop failed to quit.
